GAMCHO
Acupuncture & Wellness
감초 (Gamcho) means licorice root in Korean — a harmonizing herb that brings sweetness and balance to every formula.
In Korea, someone who brings harmony, warmth, and ease to a group is often called “감초” — the person who makes everything feel better just by being there.
We believe healing should feel the same way: gentle, balancing, and supportive. Every treatment is personalized, designed to bring harmony to your body, your mind, and your day.

Founder of GAMCHO New York
I grew up in Korea, where natural living and caring for your body were simply part of daily life. That early foundation led me to Beijing — the birthplace of Asian traditional medicine — where I completed five years of bachelor’s training and three years of master’s work at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, one of the most respected medical universities in the field. Those eight years of intensive medical education shaped the way I understand the body, how I diagnose, and how I support long-term healing.
After graduating, I continued my path in New York City, building over a decade of hands-on clinical experience across a wide range of settings — from high-volume pain management clinics to high-end integrative wellness environments, including The Well. That breadth of experience taught me how to adapt classical medicine to modern life, and how to deliver care that is structured, consistent, and deeply personalized.
Today, I am the founder of Gamcho New York, a practice that brings my full journey together — blending classical Korean and Chinese medicine with a calm, modern, patient-centered approach. Opening Gamcho as a woman, minority, and immigrant founder has been a meaningful milestone, and this practice is built with intention, gratitude, and a deep commitment to care that is personal, consistent, and clinically grounded.
