Building Momentum for Better Healing
Meaningful change takes time. Whether you’re coming to Gamcho for acupuncture, physical therapy, cupping, facial care, or somatic work, our approach is centered on consistent, personalized care that builds over time.
Many of the concerns we work with—such as chronic pain, stress, fertility and cycle health, movement limitations, muscular tension, or recurring symptoms—develop gradually. Your care may therefore begin with more frequent visits to create momentum, establish a foundation, and give your body time to respond.
As you feel better and your goals evolve, we can gradually adjust the frequency of your visits and create a rhythm that works for you.
The goal isn’t a quick fix. It’s meaningful, sustainable progress that supports your body over the long term.
Before & After Your Visit
A few simple steps can help you feel comfortable and get the most out of your time at Gamcho.
Before Your Treatment
Eat lightly 1–2 hours before your appointment. Avoid arriving overly hungry or immediately after a heavy meal.
Stay hydrated. Drink water before your visit.
Avoid caffeine or alcohol immediately before your treatment.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the areas being treated. For physical therapy, choose clothing that allows you to move comfortably.
Bring clean socks. Gamcho is a shoe-free space to maintain a clean, relaxing, and hygienic treatment environment.
Come prepared with your concerns. Let us know what you're experiencing and what you'd like to work on so we can personalize your care.
Complete your forms before your first visit. New patients should complete the required consent and HIPAA forms in advance whenever possible.
Arrive 5–10 minutes early for your first appointment to allow time to settle in and complete any remaining paperwork.
For your convenience, please use the bathroom before your treatment. The bathroom is located at the end of the hallway.
Please let your practitioner know about any relevant changes in your health, medications, recent procedures, or other circumstances before your session.
After Your Treatment
Your body may continue responding to your treatment after you leave the clinic. To support your recovery:
Drink water and rest when possible.
Avoid strenuous exercise for several hours after acupuncture, cupping, or gua sha, unless your practitioner recommends otherwise.
You may feel sleepy, relaxed, calm, or energized after treatment. These can all be normal responses.
Avoid alcohol immediately after your session.
Notice changes in pain, digestion, mood, sleep, energy, or movement. These observations can help guide your next treatment.
Mild soreness, tenderness, or temporary discoloration after cupping or gua sha is normal and temporary.
After physical therapy, follow the individualized exercises and movement recommendations provided by your PT.
Wednesday Evening Programs
For Wednesday evening programs, please arrive between 5:30–5:45 PM. The session begins promptly at 5:45 PM.
Our building closes after 6:00 PM for security reasons, so late arrival is not possible. Please plan accordingly.
Gamcho is a shoe-free space. For your convenience, please use the bathroom at the end of the hallway before entering the studio, as leaving during the session may be disruptive.
